Jill Hennessy

Her family is from Edmonton, a city with a mix of Irish, Italian and Swedish heritage, and also French Ukrainian French and Swedish. Her twin sister, Jacqueline is also an actor. While growing up, Jill became fluent in different languages such as Italian, French and Spanish. At twelve, she became intrigued by acting. She began her acting career in Toronto through David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort alongside his twin sister. After that, she was studying improv on Second City under Deb Kimmet. They moved back to New York two years later and was offered a contract to as the an Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid in the hit show that has been running for a long time Law & Order. Over the 3 years she lived in New York working on the feature film industry, which included RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1996) and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). In the following years, she landed gigs in some forgettable films and in 1999, she landed her first starring role on the television miniseries uremberg alongside Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York, Exit Wounds and other major productions were to follow. She landed a lead role on the crime drama NBC's Crossing Jordan. And in 2007, for her role in the show, she was awarded to the series she was honored with a Gracie Allen as the "Outstanding female lead in a drama Series". She married another actor, Paolo Mastropietro in 2000. They share two children. In 2007, she was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2007.
